New ALA Associate Executive Director to Headline GALILEO Conference

We’re excited to announce that Lisa Varga, GALILEO’s 2025 conference keynote speaker, has been named associate executive director of the American Library Association’s Public Policy and Advocacy Office in Washington D.C.

Varga will begin her duties in April. ALA is the world’s largest library association, representing libraries of all types.

Varga previously served 15 years as executive director of the Virginia Library Association, and last year, she was named Library Journal’s 2024 Librarian of the Year.

She will speak at the GALILEO conference on June 4, addressing school, public and college librarians across the state who help share GALILEO’s value. Throughout the day, there will be sessions from librarians, staff, and GALILEO partners.

A pre-conference workshop on digging deeper into GALILEO will be held on June 3, with speakers from EBSCO and GALILEO.

We look forward to seeing you in Macon!
