  • What: “The Nuts and Bolts of Open” USG Librarian Training
  • When: Tuesday, July 30 @ 1 p.m.
  • Where: Virtually using Microsoft Teams
  • Register Now!

Now in its 10th year, ALG offers grants to USG teams to transform course materials into open and affordable options for students. To date, more than 1 million USG students have saved an estimated $175 million in textbook costs because of these efforts.

On your campuses, we have USG faculty and librarians who are working hard to showcase the benefit of open education, and we want to share a little bit about what they’re doing, as well as what you can do.

The 1-hour session will include some practical application as we hear from USG librarians engaged in OER initiatives on their campus. Some topics of discussion will include:

  • What are your barriers?
  • Why Open?
  • How does Open work?
  • How do I find and use free and low-cost resources?
  • What are some good USG examples?
  • How do ALG grants work?
  • Questions? What barriers remain?
