This Day in 1969: “The Eagle Has Landed”

On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo 11 lunar module, called the “Eagle,” on the surface of the moon, and then became the first men to walk on it.

You can read about this historic event in “The First Moon Landing” and read the telephone conversation between President Nixon and the Apollo 11 astronauts. NASA Images includes videos and images of the space mission. For even more about the Apollo 11 space mission and the 40 years since that time, see these articles in MAS Ultra.
