On This Day in 1916, the Cherokee Rose Became Georgia’s State Flower
On August 18, 1916, the General Assembly adopted a joint resolution naming the Cherokee Rose as the “floral emblem” of the state of Georgia, making today the 95th anniversary of our state flower.
