National Book Month: Finding Authors

October is National Book Month, an annual celebration of writers and readers. In honor of this celebration, we are offering tips each week this month on how to use GALILEO resources to find books and authors along with reviews and criticism.

So far this month, we have learned how to find genre and award-winner book lists and how to find books in a series or more books like a favorite.

This week, we’ll find more authors like a favorite author.

In NoveList, type in the name of a favorite author. Click the author’s name in the search results list to see more information about that author. Look to the right of the screen to see suggestions in the NoveList Also Recommends section. Or, scroll down to the Search for More section to choose terms that describe what you like best about that author and then click Search to see a list of suggestions.

For the last tip of our series, we will take a look at how to find reviews and literary criticism.
