GOLD Database retired September 1, 2011

Due to the lack of available updates, low use, and non-currency, the GALILEO Steering Committee approved the retirement of the GOLD Database.The GOLD database will be removed from GALILEO menus tomorrow, September 1, 2011. You will want to remove any link to GOLD on your library or other institutional web pages.

Although the GOLD database has been an important tool for resource sharing for many years, there have been problems with the availability and reliability of the data since the early 2000’s. The last update of the GOLD database was in September 2005. Journal holdings and availability can be found through other resources like GeorgiaCat, GIL Universal Catalog, WorldCat/WorldCat.org, and PINES.
