GALILEO, Georgia State Partner in Data Literacy Assistantship
GALILEO and Georgia State University Library have partnered to start the GALILEO Graduate Research Assistantship.
Funding for the GALILEO program is provided by a donation from ProQuest. In the first year (2022-2023), Georgia State University Library is receiving funding in the amount of $10,000.
Additional funding ($10,000 for each of two additional years) may be provided to expand this project. The Graduate Research Assistant chosen also receives a tuition waiver during their participation.
The GRA works with a faculty advisor to develop a series of open access tutorials and lesson plans introducing data resources available to all Georgians, with a focus being on high school and first-year college students in the program’s first year.
A report on the first year’s efforts is expected to be presented at the GALILEO Annual Conference in June 2023.
