Find Your Ancestors in the 1940 Census
You can now search by name to find your ancestors in the 1940 census. Previously, the 1940 census was only browsable, but ProQuest staff have been working to index over 132 million names. They have now indexed most states, including Georgia.
To search the 1940 census, log in to Ancestry Library Edition at your Georgia public library, and go to the 1940 U.S. Census link at the bottom of the page under Census Collections to search by name.
Please contact your local Georgia public library for assistance with access and research.
