Conserving Rivers

National Rivers Month is celebrated in June and is intended to promote awareness and preservation of rivers in the United States. In support of this, the National Agricultural Library offers an extensive array of information as well as links to events related to your local river.

If you would like to learn more about rivers, the River article in Encyclopædia Britannica provides information on rivers and river systems.

Environment Complete offers many articles about research, conservation of rivers, water quality, and more.

If you’re interested in something closer to home, the New Georgia Encyclopedia offers a collection of articles about the major rivers in Georgia, the fall line, fourteen river basins in Georgia, and (my favorite!) waterfalls. GeorgiaInfo also provides a collection of links to information about Georgia Rivers, including maps and photos, and the Digital Library of Georgia offers images of rivers from around the state.
