360 Search Replaces WebFeat on Wednesday, August 10th

GALILEO is happy to announce that we will be transitioning the federated search technology behind GALILEO Search from WebFeat to SerialsSolutions 360 Search. This transition will occur on Wednesday, August 10th. We expect that the transition will be seamless for users.

Because this change impacts all GALILEO institutions, it will take a number of hours to complete. Some sites may not see the new 360 Search interface until late in the day on August 10th.

Although many features are shared between WebFeat and 360 Search, 360 Search offers users some benefits that are currently not available through WebFeat. The most notable new feature is the ability to filter results on a cluster. Cluster options include: topics, date, journals, and authors. Selecting a cluster will limit a result set to articles within that particular cluster.

We are also happy to report that search and retrieval is significantly faster and links from the result page can be bookmarked and captured for later use.

Finally, there are a couple of features that are currently not available in 360 Search that we want to highlight.

  • Peer review limiting is currently not available. We are working with SerialsSolutions to make this option available in the near future.
  • Date limiting from the search page is limited to a single year instead of a range of years. SerialsSolutions is hoping to add the date range limiter in a future release.

We hope that you find this new interface an improvement over WebFeat. We have made every effort to make this transition as seamless as possible. If you uncover any issues, please report them to GALILEO Support Services via our Contact Us form, and we will work to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
