Sign Up: Participate in GALILEO Ambassadors

Are you excited about the use of GALILEO in classrooms and the community? Have you created cool lesson plans that use GALILEO resources?

If so, then we are looking for you to join our GALILEO ambassadors group. Our first meeting of the year is August 3, but we will also have an interest meeting on August 8 and 22, as well.

If you attend our first meeting of the year on August 3, you’ll learn what a GALILEO ambassador is, what our main goals for the year are, and have the chance to ask questions about our efforts.

Attend one of the interest meetings only, and you’ll get a quick overview of the group, then decide if you want to be involved.

This is a relatively new group/committee within GALILEO mainly focused on marketing and engagement.

Purpose

To assist in boosting brand awareness and use of GALILEO, with a particular focus on the state’s primary school students, teachers and media specialists. In addition to being brand ambassadors who promote GALILEO, group members will identify marketing and awareness campaigns, advise on branding, partnerships, promotional items and creatives, as well as special events, trainings or webinars. The group will also serve as the selection committee for the GALILEO Ambassador Award. Overall creation of campaigns, creatives, etc. is the responsibility of GALILEO staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as a brand ambassador for GALILEO and its programs

  • Act as the organizing and selection committee for the GALILEO Ambassador Award

  • Review and advise on ongoing branding and marketing plans for GALILEO

  • Identify and review partnership opportunities for GALILEO

  • Identify and promote opportunities for user-generated content for GALILEO

  • Assist in planning of special events, such as speakers series, marketing boot camps, etc.

  • Share ideas for marketing collateral (swag) for special giveaways, conferences, etc.

Qualifications

If you’re a critical thinker who loves planning out big ideas, and you’re excited about the use of GALILEO in communities and classrooms and want to be the first to get new swag, then this group could be for you. Each member must be an employee, parent, student or patron of a GALILEO-member library. (If you like marketing and have experience with it, that’s also a plus; it’s more important that you’re a fan of GALILEO!)

Meetings

Meetings are held virtually at least 4 times a year in August, November, February and May, with additional tasks to be completed throughout the year.
