Google to Close Out GALILEO Conference
Just announced!
Google will close this year’s GALILEO Annual Conference.
Sean Maxwell, a Google client engineer, will lead the closing session. His session is entitled “Empowering the Intelligent Library: Google’s Vision for AI in Education and Institutional Success.”
He will explore Google’s evolving perspective on the role of AI in classrooms, research environments, and the modern library ecosystem. This session will unpack how Google envisions the intersection of AI, information literacy, and educational technology.
Most recently, the tech giant announced $6 million in funding for Georgia State University to establish an afterschool program for high school students focused on AI and machine learning. Georgia State students will serve as instructors and mentors, with Google volunteers supporting learning in the lab.
Georgia Public Libraries Service, which is our co-organizer for the GALILEO Annual Conference, also has an existing relationship with Google. GPLS provides ChromeOS devices as patron loaner devices, Internet stations, and as a platform for digital signage and kiosks.
(Daniel Zeiger, IT director for GPLS who led this change, will be speaking during our keynote session, along with other public and private sector leaders in the field.)
We’re excited to hear more about Google’s vision at the closing session. Register to secure your spot, as this – and all other conference sessions – will not be recorded or live-streamed.
The event is free.
