GALILEO Celebrates 25th Anniversary

On Sept. 21 1995, GALILEO went live as Georgia’s virtual library.

GALILEO launched with the goal of providing universal access to a core set of online resources and services for every person in Georgia. Initial resources included 1500 full-text journals.

Today, GALILEO has hundreds of thousands of resources easily accessible through school, university or public libraries. And, each year, there are approximately 64 million searches for information on GALILEO.

We created a short video to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Here’s to many more years of supporting the lifelong learning needs of every Georgian.
