ALG Celebrates 10 Years of Excellence
Affordable Learning Georgia is celebrating 10 years of affordable learning excellence!
Since its inception, ALG has saved more than 1 million University System of Georgia students an estimated $175 million in textbook costs through its grants program.
The program gives much-needed funds to faculty looking to convert their courses to ones that don’t come with high textbook prices. Just this April, ALG gave away $602,432 in grants for 48 projects across the USG.
Students can identify these no-cost and low-cost classes right from course descriptions, and they continuously report positive perceptions and outcomes of courses funded by ALG’s grants. “I did not have to worry and stress about having to purchase a book, and the book is easily accessible.” “College is expensive enough on its own, so providing low- and no cost resources available make it more accessible for students to study and succeed in their courses.”
Any USG faculty interested in learning more about grants, get additional information and apply by visiting the ALG website.
Applications for the next grant round are due Oct. 28, 2024.
